What do I do if I have been in an accident?
1). Stay calm, if the accident was with another motorist, exchange insurance information.
2). Call 1K Automotive at (240) 650-9800 and provide us with your vehicle details (make,model,year), the type of damage incurred, your insurance company and if you have a deductible. WE ACCEPT ALL INSURANCE COMPANIES.
3). If the vehicle is drive-able bring it over to 1K Automotive,
If the vehicle is not driveable, don't worry we can get a tow truck out your way.
4). Once the vehicle is with us we will perform an initial inspection and you will notify your insurance company that the vehicle has been dropped off at "1K AUTOMOTIVE" (431 E DIAMOND AVE SUITE B 20877 Gaithersburg, MD).
5). Within 2-3 business days your insurance company will send out an adjuster to take a look at the vehicle for damages and approve the repairs. Generally, with the insurance's proper cooperation, we are able to turn around most collision repairs within 2-3 weeks. We keep you up to date on the progress of your vehicle each step of the way until it is finished!
Will 1K Automotive work with my insurance?
Yes, we work with ALL insurance companies!
Starting the process is simple:
1. Bring your vehicle in for an initial inspection.
2. We’ll walk you through opening a claim with your insurance company.
Will I have a rental car to drive during repairs?
Most insurance policies cover rental cars for 15-30 days.
If your policy includes a rental, we will coordinate with Enterprise Rent-A-Car™ to pick you up and get you into a rental—no Uber or Lyft needed!
Do I get updated during the repair process?
Yes, we provide regular updates so you always know the status of your vehicle.
Do i need an appointment for an estimate?
Yes, we require appointments for all estimates.
